Triangle inequality out of range

You apply $|a+b| \le |a|+|b|$ wherever a modulus appears.

It holds for real numbers, complex numbers and vector magnitudes — but a vector's magnitude is not the sum of its components' absolute values. And the relation is $\le$: equality is possible.

Next time: Check each term is a genuine modulus.
